Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. Folio. [iv], 3, [i]pp. Text in English and French. edition limited to 500 copies. Translation by Helen Fullberg of Orfèvre Joaillier, Metteur en oeuvre, n.p.:, n.p., 1791. Printed stiff paper wrappers. With 11 plates. Robert Bénard (1734 -1794) was a French engraver born in Paris. Specialized in the technique of engraving, Robert Bénard is mainly famous for having supplied a significant amount of plates (at least 1,800) to the Encyclopédie by Diderot & d'Alembert from 1751. The signature "Benard fecit" on plates probably indicates the work of his own hand; the signatures "Benard Direx" and "Benard Direxit" indicate the work of the atelier of engravers he directed for many years (information culled from on-line sources). Extremely uncommon; very few libraries have copies. 0.…
