Bert Cornillie es profesor titular de lingüística española en la KU Leuven (Bélgica). Se doctoró en el 2004 con una tesis sobre la modalidad epistémica y la evidencialidad expresadas por los (semi)auxiliares españoles. Ha publicado sobre estos temas en revistas y libros internacionales con índice de impacto. También ha editado libros y números monográficos de revistas sobre fenómenos relativos a la gramática del discurso como la (inter)subjetividad, las partículas modales y los marcadores del discurso. Dámaso Izquierdo Alegría es investigador posdoctoral en el Instituto Cultura y Sociedad (ICS) de la Universidad de Navarra. Su labor investigadora está centrada en la lingüística general, la pragmática, el análisis del discurso y la lingüística de corpus, con especial atención a la evidencialidad y a la modalidad epistémica en español y en francés. Su tesis doctoral, defendida en 2016, tiene como título Alcances y límites de la evidencialidad.
