SIX VOLUME SET. RARE extensive commentary on Brazilian Civil Law by its author - Clóvis Beviláqua (1859-1944), who was the founding father of Brazilian Civil Code scholarship. Beviláqua presented the first draft of Brazilian Civil Law in 1899 and was the code`s first commentator. The author was professor of civil and comparative law in Recife, and founded and occupied the 14th chair of the Brazilian Academy of Letters, from 1897 until his death in 1944.
