Some water damage and colored pencil/crayon marks on covers. Spine and bottom edges of boards have been covered in fibrous tape, which is peeling off in several places. Cloth is fraying slightly, particularly at upper edges and in upper corners, where the boards are exposed just a bit. Covers are intact with endpapers securely attached to boards. Front endpaper has school stamps across upper edge. Pages have some light smudges, foxing, and stains, but are mostly clean. There are some small tears at the edges of several pages. The book was published by Lothrop, Lee and Shepard Company in 1941 and appears to be a First Edition but is not specifically stated as such. It IS an ex-library copy, has no dust jacket and is a hard cover book in only good condition (at best) with some library markings and library wear. The book is 7 3/8" by 8 3/4" and has about 40 pages with large print and green-black-and-white illustrations throughout on light green pages.
