È un fenomeno multiforme frequente, dal quale non è esente l'attività professionale, come tale meritevole di essere studiato. Il testo si caratterizza per l'originalità della scelta dei riferimenti, idonei a studiare i processi che inducono alla violenza nei confronti degli assistenti sociali, e per la ricerca che ha indagato il fenomeno attraverso le narrazioni degli assistenti sociali in una prospettiva territoriale. Per la costruzione dell'impianto teorico sono stati utilizzati il paradigma del "campo" di Bourdieu con i suoi scritti e quelli dei suoi collaboratori sul servizio sociale e la ricerca realizzata negli Stati Uniti da Newhill. Le rappresentazioni del problema fornite dagli assistenti sociali costituiscono il corpus empirico della ricerca che ha consentito di analizzare, in una prospettiva di "Grounded Theory", le dinamiche processuali del singolo evento e le pratiche quotidiane messe in atto dai vari attori sulla scena, con l'obiettivo di fornire una maggiore comprensione degli atti di violenza e lo studio di metodologie e prassi idonee alla prevenzione. Tarcisio Maracchioni, con spirito dissacrante, voleva fare qualcosa di autobiografico prendendo una parte di sé rimasta in ombra. Anna Monelli voleva partire dalla visione di un corvo e procedere avanti e indietro nel tempo senza dare troppa importanza alla cronologia. Susanna Carri aveva necessità di raccontare storie semplici, intergenerazionali, di partite a bocce e amori fugaci, di appartamenti in condominio e nonne curiose. Laura Bini era alla continua ricerca di un'autobiografia che potesse essere condivisibile con gli altri, universale. Fabio Pompili mostrava una complessità di una struttura narrativa ucronica, vicina a Poe, a Lovecraft. Libro.
