Obwohl diese "Feuerzwerge" sich bei gemäßigten Temperaturen nicht vermehren können, sind sie in der Lage, hierbei in einer Art "Kältestarre" jahrelang zu überleben. / Kernspinresonanz oder Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) ist ein Verfahren mit dem molekulare Eigenschaften von Materie in Magnetfeldern durch Bestrahlung mit Hochfrequenz untersucht werden. Im wesentlichen handelt es sich bei der Adessung um den Funkverkehr zwischen Sende- und Empfangsstationen im Labor, das heißt, dem Spektrometer und den Atomkernen im Magnetfeld, ähnlich dem Informationsaustausch zwischen zwei Funktelefonen.
