Cloth hardcover with gilt lettering is considerably faded with color loss and minor tearing at corners/edges. Spine text can barely be made out and cover cloth has many stains from shelf-life wear and use. Some scratches to cover boards. Other than the stamps on the inside front cover and the occasional spot pages are clean without notes or highlighting. A few pages have bends/creases at middle top of sheet. Binding tight. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. A previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Boards have light shelf wear with minor corner bumping and crushing to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled. Book has strong forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed.

In fairly good brown cloth boards, blind stamped pattern and ruled edges to front, gilt titles to spine. Approximately half an inch from front tail edge is loose from the page block; there are a few marks to front and rear; spine ends and corners bumped. Bright brown end papers; a little marked; the front end papers are split down centre but muslin from spine not visible. Age-toned cut edges; the fore edge is also deckled. The text block is tight, slightly warped, unmarked except for the publisher's list to rear which is tanned. No dedications etc. Good condition. Without jacket.

Tips Are Gently Bumped.The Rear Cover Has Some Red Marks At The Top, Presumably Red Ink, As Well As Scuff Marks From Shelving Or Handling. The Rear Eps Have A Crease From The Binding Process.
