Die Schreie, die die Urmenschen bei ihren Arbeitsanstrengungen unwillkürlich ausstießen - die Arbeitsschreie - waren die Embryonen der Worte, die ersten Bezeichnungen: als natürliche und für alle verständliche Wiedergabe der Handlungen, bei denen sie entstanden find. Und dieselben Arbeitsschreie wurden die Keime der Arbeitslieder. Sie waren nicht eine einfache Unterhaltung oder Zerstreuung.
