HARDCOVER. 1919. First edition. A good copy in blue cloth boards with blue lettering. The boards are rubbed and lightly soiled and have a 1cm wide strip across the top of the front board which appears to be black marker. The rear hinge is weakened but holding well. A strip of about 1 cm has been cut away from the top of the front free endpaper. The pages are lightly age tanned but clean and in very good order. Scans available if required.

Excellent use of maps throughout. Good+ good copy of the first edition. No dust jacket. This book was donated to the Henry J. Reilly Memorial Library by Brigadier General Reilly. He served as a brigade commander in the 42nd Infantry Division in WWI. It is signed by General Reilly in September 1930. The book does have some underlining and notes from General Reilly. 207 pages.

Frontis is a picture of the Citadel from the air in 1933. Book is blue hardcover measuring about 6.5" x9." Covers are still bright blue with bright gold lettering on the spine. Mild corner bumping, minor top/bottom spine and cover edge wear. Owner's book plate front end page, inked dated inscription front end page, some sunning/soiling/foxing of end pages; tight binding, tight hinges. Clean, tightly bound intact pages. All illustrations and photos present. Dust jacket still colorful but in three pieces: front, back with part of spine and flap, front flap. Old repair to the front advert page. Recased in the original binding with spine relayed, fading to the cloth. "Based in part on Lt Col Sladens "Principals of Gunnery" and an article on breech loaders by W.P. Marshall" etc. These H.M.S.O hand books seldom appear in good condition and quite scarce more so with manuscript notes. Riling 1141.
