Ainda é difícil de avaliar as proporções dessa tragédia, pois em 2022 ainda vemos os desdobramentos de diferentes escolhas políticas e de variáveis sociais, econômicas e culturais. No entanto, já podemos afirmar que certamente é uma das mais significativas tragédia…s de nossa história. E a tragédia é ainda maior pelo fato de uma grande parte dela poderia ter sido evitada: tínhamos condições de enfrentar a pandemia muito melhor do que fizemos, como país e como humanidade. Uma parte das mortes e das possíveis sequelas naqueles que superaram a fase aguda da doença teria sido prevenível com uma estratégia focada na proteção da vida e baseada na ciência. E talvez tenha sido esse o principal ponto de perplexidade para mim durante esse período: sabendo que há soluções se enfrentarmos essa tragédia todos juntos, por que não fizemos isso? Ainda não tenho respostas, permaneço perplexa. Mas este livro me ajudou a pensar e deu um pouco mais de esperanças. Em meio a tantas dificuldades, há pessoas como a Cristina, o Gustavo, o César e o Audy, que se propõem a pensar no futuro e a não desistir de nós, como coletividade. Que aceitam caminhos diversos e pensares diferentes.
