Original 17th century engraving with the episode of the Flood: Noah, kneeling, raises his hands to heaven while the pairs of animals go up the ramp into the ark. Below, the engraved title and the reference "Genesis Ch. 7", with the signatures "G. Freman inv." and "P. Bouche sculp.". The engraving comes from The History of the Old and New Testament, the illustrated Bible that Richard Blome published in London between 1688 and 1690, whose copperplates were paid for by dedications to the nobility: above, two putti hold the arms and the dedication to Catherine, Countess of Northumberland, the sponsor of this subject.
