Includes a loosely inserted postcard, signed by the publisher R.L Bowley, the author's son. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. End papers are more notably foxed. Text block edge is moderately foxed. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped jacket has moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creasing.

Red decorated cloth boards with gilt lettering and illustrations on upper board and spine.Top edges gilt. Condition: light wear to extremities including small tears at top of spine, some darkening on spine and half of fep cut out.

Internally very clean with no inscriptions. Jacket is not price clipped and in reasonably bright condition, although a little edge worn and sun discoloured on it's mainly white areas. Also there are a few closed tears to the jacket and minor loss, including a small whole to the rear of the spine about a quarter of the way up and at the spine ends.
