Spine chipped with some loss, else fine. As the cover and title page announce, this selection is "designed to present a profile of the intere…sts of the Bridwell Library," and was "prepared on the occasion of a visit by the Grolier Club." Of the one hundred volumes selected for inclusion in this catalogue, seventy-five come from the first 495 years of printing, while the remaining twenty-five come from the twenty-five years prior to the Grolier Club visit, i.e., 1950-1975, and therefore might be viewed as constituting the cutting edge of printed books at the time. Gutenberg, Homer, Plato, Savonarola, Luther, and many others are included in the first section, while Chagall, T.S. Eliot, and Camus appear in the second section. Both sections are organized chronologically. From the private reference library of Dorothy Sloan with a commemorative bookplate loosely inserted. Bridwell Library (illustrator).

The exhibit was held in conjunction with the academic festival, "The Renewal of Man," which consisted of an academic procession, bibliographic colloquy, and dinner. 200 items listed…and described. A wonderful, complete set. 4to, [35]pp. Red, illustrated paper wraps, printed in red and black throughout. Laid in are an invitation to the festival [3]pp.; broadside printed in three colors for part I of the festival, and single sheet programs for parts 2 and 3 (Bibliographic Colloquium and Dinner). Complete in original printed envelope. Very good condition with some foxing to preliminaries, and wear to corners. Few markings in pencil throughout, otherwise clean internally.
