All 3 books in one of the more obscure series of children's books written 1915-1917 for girls by this mystery author/librarian in the early 20th-century. The titular "two little women" are "Dolly" & "Dotty," (Dorinda Fayre & Dorothy Rose), young ladi…es who are just starting high school when the series begins. From rather well-to-do families, their father builds them a "treasure house" in Book #2 " where they can make fudge for their parties." In Book #3, they go to New York to stay with the wealthy uncle of some friends, where "unusual parties & adventures keep them very excited and happy." First published by Dodd, Mead, these are the Grosset & Dunlap reprints, with slightly more "modern" DJ cover art (by Earl. cannot make out last names) on Books 1 & 3 showing the girls with shorter skirts & bobbed hair styles; Book 2 has the first DJ cover art by original artist E. C. Caswell, who illustrated the frontispieces on all 3 books. Page counts range from 269-305 pages + varying numbers of pages in rear advertising other children's series. All 3 books are hardcover 12mos with blue cloth-covered boards stamped in darker blue lettering to front & spine. Books 1 & 3 are VG+, Book 2 is only Good, with bleaching to entire exterior. Interiors are all very clean & completely unmarked , with mild page tanning, heavier to edges. The unclipped DJs are VG- (#2), VG+ (#3), & Near Fine (#1), with more or less chipping, light soil & edgewear; all are nicely protected in nonreflective mylar covers.
