In 1964, the race realist Carleton Putnam gave an address at UC Davis on the physiological, intellectual and social differences between blacks and whites and the general inferiority of the former. Following the speech's transcription are 104 audience questions with Putnam's concise answers. This copy "published" by the National States Rights Party's Thunderbolt imprint, which was essentially the National Putnam Letters Committee edition with the Thunderbolt address to the title page and wholesale information to the final page. Stapled wrappers (9" x 6"), 63 p. Light edge wear, near fine.

Pamphlet. 26p., staplebound pamphlet, 4x9 inches, rubberstamp on cover says "This speech answers the AAA resolution of November 17th"; otherwise very good condition. Putnam first crows about the Louisiana School Board adopting his book "Race and reason" as a textbook, then goes on to outline his version of scientific racism and attack the major Anthropological association.

Soft cover. Zustand: Good. Laid in loosely at front is a mimeographed sheet on which Dwight J. Ingle provides the background of this controversial reprint. The sheet had been stapled to the front wrapper, as both have small staple holes at top; top of front wrapper also has stamp indicating that this reprint was not accessioned by a Harvard University library; wrappers have foxing and minor soil and are sunned at edges; reprint has light wear and is a bit musty; title page and verso of the final leaf have foxing. Adding to the significance of this particular copy is the strong likelihood that it was previously owned by Carleton S. Coon (discussed in the narrative), who regrettably did not sign his name in the reprint. Size: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches [br 32 rt].
