Developed independently of New York graffiti, the so-called Cholo style employed calligraphic elements from Gothic writing, typically in the form of monochrome names or gang affiliations, often associated with a street number. The images in this monograph were captured by Italian-born photographer Gusmano Cesaretti, who was guided through the streets by Charles "Chaz" Bojórquez, now recognized as the godfather of L.A. graffiti. Square octavo: unpaginated with black-and-white photographs throughout. A cheaply-produced book, often encountered with binding issues. This example is far better than most and still quite sound.
