The Great Escape, the classic 1963 John Sturges World War military prison escape crime adventure thriller. This rare program book is filled with great images and biographies of the stars and much behind-the-scenes information that we have not seen anywhere else. The first interior page is die-cut in the form of prison bars, so that you see the full-color image of Steve McQueen "behind bars"! One of the best pages is labeled "Stuntman Ekins", and it has a picture of Bud Ekins tangled in the barbed wire after the motorcycle crashes into it, and it clearly states that Steve McQueen "at producer/director John Sturges' request, let Bud Ekins do the dangerous smash-up sequences for him", and the photo is clearly visual proof. There is also information about McQueen's motorcycle and how he and Ekins took an English motorcycle and completely rebuilt it and disguised it as a German one! Fine condition.
