Paris, [1867?] sine data, Vve [veuve] Magnin et fils, éditeurs - Librairie Louis Janet (printed by «Imprimerie Jules Bonaventure»), publisher's half cloth; red calf sporting an an ornate triple frame pasted to both boards; title in black to the front board circling a geometric figure itself circling the wording «Institution Émile Fleury Marseille» lettered gilt in a gilt laurel crown; geometric pattern to the rear board; olive-green pastedowns and endpapers blank, oblong octavo, pages: [52]. First edition. A fine copy (spine restored, as confirmed by the two tape stripes to reinforce the inner hinges; slight marginal wear to the boards; some browning and foxing, almost negligible). The only known colour copy: the plates in the Bibliothèque nationale de France copy are in black and white. An illustrated album containing a number of scenes featuring two siblings, Toto and his older sister Marie; each illustration bears a short one-page text describing it. Chéreau and Ningam worked together on another similar book, «Voyages curieux d'une poupée», printed around 1867, which seems to indicate the «Album de la jeunesse» was printed in that period. Extremely rare: the Online Computer Library Centre (OCLC) lists the Bibliothèque nationale de France copy alone.
