He famously captured Rome in June 1944, as the Allies were landing in Normandy. Clark was close friends with Gen. Eisenhower, who considered him a "brilliant staff officer." In retirement, he served as President of The Citadel. The inscribed first edition of Calculated Risk, the war memoirs of Gen. Mark W. Clark. (illustrator). Signed.
