Red cloth hardcover with gilt top edge, and gilt lettering and decoration to front cover ansd spine, xliii + 443 pages, illustrations; very gently used ex-school board office library copy with faint residue of spine label, ink numeral on front cover and inside front cover, very light shelf wear, all pages rough cut (edges untrimmed) or still uncut, tight in binding, free front endpaper removed, otherwise very clean and unmarked. Hardcover. Zustand: Book Good +/Good++. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: No Dustjacket. First Thus. xiii + 384 pages including index. PLEASE NOTE - VOLUME TWO ONLY. Age-dulled red boards with generalized light rubbing, spine-ends have small wear. Title label on spine faded and nibbled along top (however there is an unused label still tucked in the back of book). Lovely decorated endpapers. Page-edges to long and bottom edges rough-cut and age-grimed; t.e.g. B&W photographic frontispiece with tissue-guard. Very slight foxing to prelims and very last pages o/w internally clean and tidy.
