Manuskript / Papierantiquität
Zustand: General wear. Rusted staples. The booklet is a compilation of information provided by missionaries in China through letters, missionary reports, historical material, and missionary radio broadcasts. It has been divided up into ten sections: 'From Nestorians Until Today', 'Medical Work', 'Christian Education', 'Agricultural and Rural Evangelism', 'The Church of Christ in China', 'Migration', ' Refugee Schools', 'As War Goes On', 'The People Behind the Statistics', and an untitled last section which is a reprint of a speech given by Y.M.C.A. secretary Dr. T. Z. Koo at the 1940 Presbyterian General Assembly. The speech was designed to give "a brilliant and concise picture of conditions in China today, and an estimate of immediate future relationships between China, Russia, and the United States." As Japan invaded China in 1937 (though sometimes considered to be a part of WWII, it is also known as the Second Sino-Japanese War), the booklet often discusses the affect of that war on the current Chinese populations. Throughout the booklet are numerous printed black and white photographs of missionaries and the Chinese people receiving their services. 63 pgs. Yellow wrappers. Staple binding. OCLC 2 (March 2021). Measures 8" x 6".
