Specifically, this book focuses on the Roman Catholic Churchâs Index of Forbidden Books, a list of publications which the Church deemed heretical or dangerous to the faith. Through these decrees, the reader is presented with a record of the Churchâs efforts to regulate the flow of heretical ideas and protect the faithful from moral corruption. The author meticulously assembles encyclicals, constitutions, and decrees relevant to the Index, providing a comprehensive view of the Churchâs efforts to guide its flock. This book is a valuable resource for scholars of church history, the history of censorship, and the history of the book. Erstausgabe
Couverture souple. Zustand: Bon. Edition originale.
