Quayle, Greensleeves, Sutton Coldfield 1960" inside front wrapper, title page quite grubby, contents clean but with some light foxing to the last few pages, last page has a darker foxed mark. tall slim octavo (in this uncut state). *Joseph Priestley was outspoken in his views on the American Revolution and the French Revolution, both of which he favoured, after the riots which started on the 14th of July when he was attending a meeting of the Lunar Society, saw the Protestant Dissenters riot and burn his house down and other dwellings in the vicinity and he was forced to flee to America where he spent his last 10 years. He was a natural philosopher, a chemist and a grammarian on top of being a theologian and causing the occasional riot.
