His creative process is reconstructed mainly through unpublished materials from archives and museums. After exploring Dudovich's relationship with photography, one of his great passions, the book illustrates his posters alongside original sketches and wash drawings. Furthermore, it includes references to silent cinema and the divas of his days, whose charm especially fascinated him, and to his bond with his master Leopoldo Melicovitz. Some twenty photographs by the latter are presented here for the first time. Paperback.

Basti pensare alle sue opere per i Magazzini Mele, per Borsalino, La Rinascente, Campari, Martini, Agfa, Pirelli e molti altri. Questo volume si propone di approfondire il rapporto tra la fotografia e la cartellonistica nei lavori del grande maestro ripercorrendo le tappe fondamentali della sua produzione artistica. Si ricostruisce in particolare il suo iter creativo attraverso materiale inedito proveniente da archivi e musei. Partendo dall'analisi della fotografia, di cui Dudovich era un grande appassionato, si affiancano schizzi e bozzetti acquerellati ai manifesti stessi. Non mancano riferimenti al cinema muto e alle dive dell'epoca, dal cui fascino l'artista fu particolarmente attratto, come anche ai rapporti con il suo maestro Leopoldo Metlicovitz, del quale sono proposte una ventina di fotografie inedite. Un figlio casuale, inopportuno, che viene a scombussolare vite e sentimenti di due famiglie, divise tra la riluttante accettazione e la totale negazione del fatto compiuto. Nulla di… particolarmente strano, una situazione alquanto comune, forse perfino banale. Ma è il 1942. A 21 anni il ragazzo-padre viene scaraventato in Russia, nella catastrofica avventura dell'ARMIR, e ne rimane inghiottito. Sarà uno delle decine di migliaia di soldati "dispersi", non se ne saprà più nulla. Crescendo, il bimbo inopportuno ignorerà perfino la sua esistenza, ritenendosi figlio di un altro uomo che frattanto ha sposato la risoluta ragazza e gli ha dato un cognome, ancorché non quello giusto, per poi sparire a sua volta dalla vita del minuscolo, scombinato nucleo familiare. Sarà infine la madre, troppi anni dopo, a rivelare al ragazzo (da tempo divenuto uomo fatto) l'occultata verità. Libro.
