Off-white paper covers moderately soiled with small stain to rear cover, past owner's signature at top right corner of front cover, brochure appears to have once been curled perhaps to fit into a pocket so there is a light vertical crease still evident. Past owner stored the booklet in a ring binder and thus the spine edge is marred by a three-hole punch which occur all within the page margins with no adverse affect to interior photos or text. B/w photographs throughout. Page 1 introduces Walter H. Beech as President of Wichita, Kansas-based Travel Air Company (which he founded in 1924 with Clyde Cessna and Lloyd Stearman) and President of New York-based Curtiss Wright Sales Corporation as well as Vice-President of the Curtiss Wright Corporation. This initial text declares that a "substantial proportion of the commercial planes in use in the United States at the close of 1929 are Travel Air built." Thus the brochure probably dates to 1930, the same year that Beech and his partners sold Travel Air to Curtiss Wright. Beech resigned from his positions in April 1932 in order to form the Beech Aircraft Company in Wichita.
