The comparative perspective suggested here is not so much methodological, or thematic. Reproducem un fragment: Spalnd sosete, gndul meu era numai cum sa ma razbun pe spurcatul si jegosul de sergent ce ma umilise. Brusc, o idee, mai mult sau mai putin diabolica, a aparut n mintea mea. Terminnd sosetele de spalat si de atrnat la uscat, m-am furisat la popota si, fara sa fiu prins, am furat o punga de 500 g var (var folosit la cartofii noi; adica se presara var peste cartofi, ca sa nu se strice si sa nu se apropie de ei gndacii, viermii si alte trtoare si insecte). Ascunznd punga n veston, m-am ntors si, n loc sa i pun sergentului jegos pudra de talc pe sosete, am pus var. Punnd var pe sosete m-am gndit sa scutur sosetele si sa pun din nou var, pna cnd fiecare firicel de ata din acele sosete avea suficient var pentru a ndeplini razbunarea mea. Terminnd de pudrat sosetele le-am pus sergentului, la capul patului, ca atunci cnd se trezeste sa se trezeasca direct cu ele n ochi si sa le foloseasca. Asezndu-ma pe patul meu, gndindu-ma la razbunare, am adormit mbracat si ncaltat n tinuta militara. [.] Am servit micul dejun si dupa aceea, dupa o mica pauza, am plecat pe platoul de instructie. Lectiile de a tine arma pentru onor, mars si prezentare pentru juramntul depus fata de tara, erau principale. La jumatatea zilei, sergentul s-a prabusit la pamnt. Descaltndu-se de ghete, privea nspaimntat cum sosetele din picioarele lui erau pline de snge si din albe devenisera rosii. Toti gradatii prezenti, fruntasi, caporali, sergenti, s-au adunat n jurul lui. Unul dintre caporali, fiindca fusese de mai multe ori la infirmerie, avea putina experienta, asa ca l-a ajutat sa si ruleze usor sosetele de pe picioarele nsngerate, diminundu-i ct de ct durerile. Priveam cu satisfactie chipul lui plin de groaza n timp ce si vedea nsngeratele picioare. n scurt timp, cineva a anuntat doctorii din companie si acestia au venit urgent cu o targa si l-au dus la infirmerie. De la departare am auzit sirena salvarii care plecase spre spitalul militar. Pesemne ca i era foarte rau pentru ca ranile si durerile i s-au agravat. Trecuse zile si nu am mai auzit nimic de el, restul zilelor am primit instructiuni de defilare, de tinere a armei pentru onor, mars si prezentare pentru depunerea juramntului catre tara.
