The book traces their lives from their births in Bennington, Vermont through their careers in Canada with the North West Company. The book is cited in Peel's BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE PRAIRIE PROVINCES (3rd ed) #431 [but not in Peel, 2nd ed]. Curiously, mention of Simon Fraser is omitted from the 4th edition of THE PLAINS AND THE ROCKIES [1982, Wagner-Camp-Becker], but he does appear in two entries (#7 and #17) in the 3rd edition [1953, Wagner-Camp].
