Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a unique examination into the characteristics and properties of a specific type of microorganism known as Botryomyces. The author, a seasoned researcher in veterinary medicine, presents his findings after extensive study of these microorganisms and their effects on living organisms, particularly horses. The study, conducted in the late 19th century, delves into the history of Botryomyces research, exploring the varying perspectives and theories on their classification and behavior proposed by prominent scientists of the time, setting the stage for the author's own research. The author's investigations focus on the cultural and pathogenic properties of Botryomyces, examining their growth patterns under different conditions, virulence in various animal models, and the pathological changes they induce in infected tissues. Through meticulously designed experiments, the author not only confirms the unique characteristics of Botryomyces but also sheds light on their similarities and differences compared to other known bacterial species, particularly Staphylococcus. The findings challenge prevailing notions and contribute to a deeper understanding of the microorganism's nature and its implications for disease processes, especially in horses. This book not only provides a comprehensive account of the author's research but also serves as a valuable historical document, offering insights into the evolution of scientific understanding and techniques in bacteriology and veterinary medicine at the turn of the 20th century. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
