Three "Notes" pages present at rear along with two unpaged leaves which have book order forms on their rectos. A near fine copy. Occasional b/w vignette illustrations by Ethel Wright Mohamed mostly at page corners along with ten full page color illustrations of Mohamed folk art embroideries on unpaged leaves with images reproduced on rectos and captions on versos in which the artist explains the image's context with a background anecdote or two. Prominent institutional holdings of Mohamed's "memory pictures" artwork include the Smithsonian, the Renwick Gallery, Mississippi's Old Capitol Museum, and her embroideries were mostly recently the subject of a special 2007 exhibition at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art. Two unpaged leaves of cookbook order forms at rear have handwritten ink $15 price corrections and cross-outs of $13.50 printed price. Five-line ink inscription on title page - "Especially for Jim - | With Love + Best Wishes - | Big Mama, | Ethel Wright Mohamed | Dec, 31. 1990" with inscribee Jim being grandson James G. Fulcher, Jr. as the book was indirectly acquired from his Belzoni, Mississippi estate. Still a very good copy.
