Este livro registra a exposição "Desenho da mão" realizada pela Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo de 5 de dezembro de 2009 à 14 de março de 2010, que apresentou uma retrospectiva do trabalho do artista Arnaldo Pedroso DHorta, que expôs cerca de 120 trabalhos entre pinturas, gravuras, desenhos, fotografias e documentos, realizados entre 1940 e 1972. Artista plástico, jornalista e crítico de arte, Arnaldo (São Paulo, 1914-1973) produz desenhos inspirados em formas vegetais (que lhe rendem vários prêmios), faz murais, mesas de cerâmicas, ilustração para jornal, capas de livro, estampa para tecido. Também escreveu uma série de artigos sobre a questão da criação artística, entre os quais 'desenho da mão' cuja a idéia central traçou o caminho da exposição.
