Written while Dingwall was Research Officer at the Society for Physical Research, it seeks to prepare sitters for the phenomena they might experience - such as automatic writing, materialization, and psychometry - and to recognize fraudulent activity. Dingwall (1890-1986) travelled extensively across Europe and the US researching mediums. He used his skills as a member of the Magic Circle to expose several potential frauds along the way, including Eusapia Palladino and Eva Carrière. Spiritualist guide. Occult.

Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. 1-14pp, staple bound [staples rusty], Scarce, with only one other copy in OCLC. INSCRIBED "H. P. from E. J. D." on page 1. Harry Price and E. J. Dingwall were co-researchers into paranormal activities, which included their re-publishing of an anonymous work written by a medium entitled Revelations of a Spirit Medium (1922) which exposed the tricks of mediumship. They also traveled to Germany together to investigate Willi Schneider in 1922. There is a crease down the middle of the pages, where this was folded in half, possibly for mailing. Now housed in a protective envelope.
