Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. Dive into the fascinating origins of European porcelain in this comprehensive history of the Meissen factory, the trailblazing enterprise that first mastered the coveted technique in the early 18th century. The author traces the factory's evolution under three of its most influential directors: BÃ ttger, HÃ roldt, and Kaendler, whose leadership transformed Meissen porcelain from an alchemical dream into a symbol of artistic excellence. Beginning with BÃ ttger's accidental discovery of porcelain production in 1709, the book delves into the challenges and triumphs of the early years. The author highlights the factory's collaboration with skilled artisans, such as the sculptor Johann Jacob Irminger, whose influence shaped Meissen's distinctive Baroque aesthetic. Through meticulous research and stunning illustrations, the author illuminates the artistic brilliance of Meissen's porcelain, from the intricate modeling and vibrant colors of the BÃ ttger period to the delicate elegance and playful charm of the Kaendler era. This book is a captivating exploration of the artistry, technical innovation, and cultural impact of the Meissen factory, a true pioneer in the history of porcelain. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
