HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE -- The E. C. Kropp Company (19071956) was a titan of American view-card publishing. While most famous for postcards, their larger panoramic prints were intended for office and hotel displays. The 'Million Dollar Bay Front Park' (now simply Bayfront Park) was built on landfill in 1925 and became the centerpiece of Miami's urban identity. Dating this piece is simplified by the skyline itself: the park opened in 1925/26, and the 'Linen' style paper/printing used by Kropp reached its zenith in the early 1930s. This specific view shows the 'Skyline' at its pre-WWII peak, capturing the architectural boom that defined the 1920s Florida Land Rush.
