Hamner, Jr. (1923-2016), best known for the long-running TV series "The Waltons," which was based on Hamner's novel "Spencer's Mountain." (The director of the broadcast, George Voutsas, was the long-time Audio Director for NBC Radio, and the engineer for many of the radio broadcasts of Glenn Miller and His Orchestra.)
