Tolkien did provide assistance to the final edits after Gordon's sudden death in 1938, but this was some years later, when Ida, also a philologist, decided to complete Gordon's work. No signatures, inscriptions of book plates, covers and spine excellent, binding firm, very good dust jacket, not price clipped, with closed tears/chipping. Books are exempt from US tariffs.
