Uncut page edges and endpapers foxed. Publishers green cloth with bevelled edges, top and bottom of spine rubbed and very slightly frayed, corners lightly bumped. Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. A good set with the Victorian bookplate of The Weston LIbrary, the rare book section of the Bodleian, in all four volumes. No further library marks (e.g. on plans). At the top of each bookplate is a small sticker saying the books belonged to the late John Ashdown, for many years Conservation Officer of Oxford City Council. This set comes from his Library. Green boards with cloth to spine. Gilt lettering and gilt edges to tops of pages. The corners are very slightly rubbed as you might expect in a book of this age and there is a small bump to the top edge of Volume I and a half inch bump to upper rear cover of Volume II. Some spotting in endpapers. Front and rear inside hinges of Volume I are cracked but binding is firm enough for now. 55 plates, 2 in colour, 29 Folding Plans in Volume 4 which are are rather splendid, with several overlayed with tissue "updates" showing recent developments at the Colleges. The text is interspersed with many further b/w reproductions, plates, drawings, plans etc.…

Darkening and rubbing to the joints and board edges, else very good.
