Hardcover. Zustand: Good. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, grayish cloth boards decorated on front and spine. Exterior is scuffed, faded and shows some spotting/soiling. Edges and corners show bumps/wear. There is a 1910 presentation inscription on the second front end page: "Presented to Clyde Snyder, for his regula…r attendance at school. Apr. 11, 1910. Elizabeth Martz, Teacher". No other handwriting found in the book, no bookplates, no library markings. There is no copyright or publication date printed in the book though Blackie & Son Publishers released a new edition of this title in 1906 with less colored plates in the original 1897 edition (ref. 1907 edition of The American Catalogue). This copy is illustrated in black and white throughout though there are only four color plates: frontispiece, 54, 78, 122. Pages are toned due to age and there is foxing and smudge marks present. The hinges are good at the boards but there is some thin cracking and pulling on the text pages. Alice B. Woodward (illustrator).
