What I find most amazing about it is that Jules Verne actually says more about Nebraska and Omaha than any of the other places Phileas Fogg visits. For a European in the 1870s, Nebraska must have seemed like the most exotic place on earth. It also seems incredible that in 140 years, I would be the first editor to realize that Grand Island, Nebraska was somehow translated as Great Island. I have corrected this, as well as a few glaring typographical errors that seem also to have gone unnoticed.…
