Soft cover. Zustand: Good. 1977 - 1978 Cleveland Barons Media Guide 72 pages , Original NHL team publication , Final season of the Cleveland Barons Scarce original 1977 - 78 Cleveland Barons Media Guide issued for the franchise's second and final NHL season before the club merged with the Minnesota North Stars. The guide features full-color photography on both the front and back covers and contains player profiles, statistics, records, schedules, organizational information, and team history from one of hockey's shortest-lived NHL franchises. The Barons played their final season at the Richfield Coliseum, the club's home arena outside Cleveland. Notable players from this edition include future NHL stars Dennis Maruk, Gilles Meloche, Al MacAdam, and Wayne Merrick, along with coach Jack Evans. The publication also promotes the Coliseum as the largest arena in the NHL, a fascinating period detail from the franchise's brief existence. Condition is good with normal age and handling wear. Corners remain notably sharp overall. A small triangular chip measuring approximately 0.25" x 0.5" is present at the lower right corner of the cover; the original piece has been neatly reattached and stabilized with archival tape. Interior pages are complete, clean, and unmarked. The repair is unobtrusive and the guide presents very well overall. An increasingly difficult to find piece of NHL memorabilia from one of the league's rarest and most short-lived franchises, ideal for collectors of defunct NHL teams, Cleveland sports history, and vintage hockey publications.
