Lovely edition contains 7 of Andersen's tales, a few very uncommon, brought to life with a color frontispiece + 4 pen-&-ink & 2 full-color plates throughout the 118 pages & on the soft green illustrated endpapers by British children's book artist Elenore Plaisted Abbott (1975-1935). A FIRST EDITION, likely First Printing, from 1922, this small hardcover (6.25" x 8.00") has medium blue cloth-covered boards with a lovely front color pastedown & dark blue lettering to spine. Condition is Good+: generally quite clean with the occasional small spot or smudge. Pages moderately tanned, heavier to edges, but completely unmarked & still supple. Sewn binding strong, both hinges intact, but free front endpaper is loosening. All illustrated plates are present, with slight tanning & random spot to margins, especially on the color ones. Front pastedown has some pen scribbles aside author's name at top & loss through a large section of top title/author's name & 2 other spots on the illustration itself.
