A note tucked inside from the desktop of Caryl Haskins thanking Lovejoy for the book from Edna and Caryl Haskins. Haskins was a scientist and administrator with connections to Yale and the Smithsonian, where a friendship with Lovejoy was almost inevitable. This volume comes from the collection of Dr. Thomas Lovejoy, who was a passionate book collector as well as a renowned biologist.
