Nel 1933 fondò le edizioni Nicolas Flamel.  La sua attività come uno dei leader del Movimento Surrealista in Belgio fu facilitata dal fatto di essere proprietario di una galleria, dove organizzò le prime mostre surrealiste in Belgio.
