Near fine third edition thus, with revised color plates. Text is a history and description of the Bayeux Tapestry ( which is technically actually an embroidered work, rather than a woven tapestry ), followed by several full page color plates of portions of the work, and then the work in its' entirety reproduced in black and white sections. Very lightly tanned spine section. Owner name and sticker on ffep. 26 numbered pp., followed by an additional page of text, 2 pp. of a list of inscriptions on the 12th century Tapestry, 2 pp. of 'Some Books and Articles' and 'Acknowledgements', List of 12 Color Plates, 79 black and white scenes from the tapestry and 2 details from the border, followed by the reproductions.

Includes 21 numbered pages an 17 black and white plates. Former library book with stickers, library markings and a cardholder. The paper covering the spine is peeling and the cloth underneath is beginning to fray. Corners and spine ends are showing heavy wear, exposing the boards underneath.
