Text block edge is moderately foxed. Prelim pages have a crease down the fore-edge. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Sunning to top edge of boards. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creasing. Moderate tanning to spine.

BLEEDING FROM THE ROMAN, Chapman & Hall, 1949, first edition, fine in near fine dust-wrapper save for a hint of tanning to the dust-wrapper spine and a bit of soiling to the rear dust-wrapper panel. A young 20th century ex-Commando is knocked unconscious in a motor accident and is mysteriously transported back 1900 years to the period of Boadicca's revolt against the Roman occupation. Fortunately he retains his car, guns and modern equipment and makes a useful contribution to the British of the past.
