Er erzählte die "Märchen aus Malula" in neuer Fassung, die ursprünglich von den Orientalisten Eugen Prym und Albert Socin im Jahre 1869 in Malula aufgezeichnet und von Gotthelf Bergsträsser im Jahr 1915 erstmals veröffentlicht wurden. Durch die vorliegende Publikation wird den phantastischen Märchen und lebensweltlichen Geschichten, die inzwischen von und über die Bewohner des Dorfes Malula existieren, eine weitere Erzählung hinzugefügt. Unsere Erzählungen unterscheiden sich in einigen grundlegenden Aspekten von den bislang vorhandenen Erzählungen: wir werden aus europäischer Sicht mit Unterstützung der Bewohner von Malula über das Dorf und seine Bewohner berichten, dabei werden die Menschen über sich und ihr Dorf erzählen.
