Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book comprises approximately 600 letters written by and to the first Earl of Clarendon over a period of nearly 20 years, beginning with the Restoration of King Charles II in 1660. They provide an unmatched insight into the machinations of court politics, the machinations of foreign powers, and the religious and philosophical conflicts that threatened to tear the nation apart.
