Laid in is a nice…16mo six-page promotional leaflet, "Comment Upon the Ballad of the Silver Ring," featuring blurbs from such writers as Hamlin Garland, Stephen Vincent Benét and Frank Luther Mott. Farran (1902-86) was a naval commander in the Korean War but is best known as the author of numerous poems, plays and short stories.
