The rear paste down has a slot for maps of the District of Columbia. One map is a very large map of the District of Columbia. The other map is a smaller one of the "thoroughfares" of the region. Both maps are list the Federal Writer's project on the map title. The corners are slightly curved with a small amount of fraying. Due to the map slot at the rear of the book, the text block does not sit straight in the book This lends the appearance that the book is cocked, but it really isn't.
