Other book format. Fiona McMillan-Webster, Thames and Hudson (Australia) Pty Ltd. What's For Dinner? is a powerful work of nonfiction that presents a clear-eyed examination of the food systems shaping our planet and our plates. Jill Griffiths argues that our eating habits are deeply entwined with environmental sustainability, agricultural practices, and ethical choices. She chronicles the journey of everyday foods-wheat, chicken, salmon, macadamias-revealing the hidden costs and consequences behind their production. The book instructs readers on how food miles, farming methods, and consumer decisions impact ecosystems and communities, while illustrating the disconnect between modern consumers and the sources of their meals. Griffiths weaves together science, history, and firsthand accounts to uncover the realities of industrial agriculture and the responsibilities we bear as eaters. Buch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book explores how best practice for acute stroke care was developed, translated and taken up in medical practice across various sites in the province of Ontario using institutional ethnographic research. Institutional ethnography, an approach developed by Dorothy E. Smith, builds on Smith's understanding of the social organization of knowledge, allowing for an examination of the complex social relations organizing people's experiences of their everyday working lives. This work thereby makes visible some of the assumptions and hidden priorities underlying the emphasis given to translating scientific knowledge into medical practice. In this study, the discourses of both evidence-based medicine and knowledge translation, purportedly designed to improve patient care, come into view as managerial tools that directed healthcare resources toward academic hospitals rather than community sites where the majority of patients receive care. These models institutionalize inequities in access to care while claiming to resolve them.…

Brossura. Zustand: come nuovo. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: ottimo. prima edizione. Offering unique insight into the world of contemporary art, this book looks at four generations of artists, from the established to the newly emerged. Photographs of each of the artists, taken by Amanda Eliasch during 2002 in the artists' studios, are set alongside examples of their work. The text by Gemma de Cruz provides a brief overview of who the artists are, what they do and how their work and ideas fit into the art world at this time. This book draws attention to a particular selection of artists who together form a strong idea of what is happening now in contemporary art in London, featuring artists who are influential alongside those they have influenced.
