"Je suis obligé par mon budget d'être aussi sévère. Excusez-m…oi mais devant la comptabilité, je ne suis pas le maitre absolu"; -Une seconde lettre au même, sans date, avec la seule mention de "lundi matin", dans laquelle il lui demande de lui remplir sa "malle de tournée" de tout ce qu'il trouvera au Théâtre Antoine, c'est à dire "la boite à guine, son maquillage, son chapeau noir, des cols cassés au coin, bottines à éperons, costume d'affaires, 6 chemises blanches"; -Une lettre de remerciement à Gémier; -Une carte postale au même; -Et, une dernière touchante, de la femme de Gémier, Andrée Mégard à Raphaël Cailloux, après la mort de Firmin : "Depuis la mort de Gémier, je n'ai pas cessé d'être malade. Excusez-moi si je ne vous ai pas répondu plutôt. Je sais que votre chagrin est grand et le mien est immense, je suis désespérée et ne me remet pas de ce coup si brutal, si inattendu. Il est mort au moment où on le considérait guéri d'une petit grippe qui lui avait fait garder la chambre pendant quelques jours [.] Je serais contente de parler de lui avec vous.".
